Strength for the journey

Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine!
Oh, what a foretaste of glory divine!
Heir of salvation, purchase of God,
Born of His Spirit, washed in His blood.
This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Savior all the day long;
This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Savior all the day long.
Perfect submission, perfect delight,
Visions of rapture now burst on my sight;
Angels, descending, bring from above
Echoes of mercy, whispers of love.
Perfect submission, all is at rest,
I in my Savior am happy and blest,
Watching and waiting, looking above,
Filled with His goodness, lost in His love.

beauty for ashes

when i feel my heart's dreams seemingly drifting further away until only a mist is perhaps not even visible, i turn to the Creator of All and i ask to see through His eyes what He sees.
Creator of All Hope, Creator of All Beauty, my Creator God, who knows me

the indomitable Snowman

the true rags-to-riches story of a plowhorse
On a winter afternoon Harry de Leyer returned from an auction with a big gray horse that his children promptly named Snowman. He was a good riding horse, but when a neighbor offered Harry twice what he'd paid for him, he agreed. Right away he regretted his decision; so apparently did Snowman. And that's when his hidden talent showed up- along with the horse himself! The neighbor's fences were high, but Snowman repeatedly scaled them to be with the master and the family he loved. One day Harry made the reunion permanent by buying back the horse- and the rest is history. Snowman kept winning championships and shows until the the ultimate dream, The National at Madison Square Garden, where he was named "Horse of the Year" two years running (1958-1959). But not because he ran; Snowman was a jumper. And nobody would have ever known had it not been for the fences that separated the grateful animal from his loving master. And the horse had every reason to be grateful, because Harry had arrived late at the auction that say after the best horses had been sold. The big grey gelding that became the indomitable Snowman was rescued from the only other bidder... a man who intended him for the glue factory. The Psalmist said, "The Lord...redeems your life from destruction." When others write you off, He sees what you can become.

a little bunny's dream

ever have one of those days when your dreams are like being a bunny in a hoop skirt, not quite the right outfit, style or place in time ~ wishful dreams can seem so far away, the reality of now so now. Don't give up, not ever. Dare to hold onto your dreams, just like the bundle of cuteness and ears above - who knew this little bunny would become famous on the www one day? You may give up one minute before your ship arrives. Just wait for the miracle - YOU are worth it all! Just BELIEVE.

begin today to reclaim your beauty

this is a lovely ecru cream and white sheath gown, the one i dream of, the one i cannot improve upon, the style classique, the form exquisite, the back curve perfect,
this is the shabby shic glam that i absolutely love,
the days I wonder where the femininity that is so a part of being a woman has gone in this culture of ours that we have become sullied with Kmarts and Walmarts and pretend that we can feel proud of ourselves wearing sweat pants and tee shirts. What has happened to the beautiful creation called 'woman'?
Girlfriend, find yourself.
Begin to discover what beauty can be and take back the rightful place on this earth that is reserved only for women and the pride of being a woman, and the esteem of being beautiful, from the inside out.

swept away by red

red, red, red
inspiring, alive, beautiful
a colour that has motion and esprit
uncertain, bold, red

little toes smile in red

i love red,  i love ruby slippers, and these are adorable

my picks

audrey hepburn and french postcard sachets

as i smile the world becomes a better place

i remembered an old friend... Victoria Magazine
what a wonderful remembrance
it was there i discovered a fashion illustrationist that at 56
began her career. the photo of her sketchbooks and croquis
inspire me to this day

when was the last time you felt really proud of yourself?

i have to admit the 6.5 earthquake last saturday in Ferndale has risen my stress level and my creative self is struggling to cope

out in the world- my heart goes out to the suffering haitians, i have no problems and am so fortunate the earthquake here was no more than a horrifying 1.45 minute shaker, no lives lost

rest and a shabby chic red and white piccadilly couch

my inspiration shall return, it always does, and often with a special surprise. God is good
